Rebecca Silvers, NP
Rebecca Silvers is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She holds clinical positions in the neurosurgery department at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Oakland, and in the pediatric intensive care unit at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, San Francisco. She recently returned to Vanderbilt to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on education and quality improvement (estimated graduation May 2021). She also holds adjunct faculty positions as a clinical instructor and lecturer at UCSF School of Nursing and Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.
Rebecca received her Bachelor of Science in nursing at McGill University in Montréal, Quebec, Canada, and her Master of Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University. Rebecca has worked as a nurse for over 17 years in pediatric critical care and as a nurse practitioner for the last seven years. She made the transition to pediatric neurosurgery almost three years ago and has truly enjoyed joining the team at BCHO! Her role entails inpatient management, first assist in the operating room, and being a provider in the outpatient clinic setting. She has a particular interest in working with the population with spina bifida.
Rebecca also shares her knowledge and clinical expertise through various avenues at UCSF and her clinical faculty appointments and preceptorships. Over the last year, she presented at nursing grand rounds, the operating room nursing education, and the ICU skills day.
Rebecca is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
